Registration

Parents of new students should contact school district offices to register and should be prepared to submit proof of residency. New registrants must present a birth certificate. Students should be registered at public schools prior to the first day of class. A specific registration period is set for each school. Residency can be proven with tax bills, mortgage statements, leases, driver’s licenses, insurance papers, and utility bills.

Preschool screenings evaluate children’s development physically and mentally before they enter school. Call the elementary school district office to schedule a screening.

PBIS

The Village of Forest Park, its Police and Fire Departments, the Park District of Forest Park, the Chamber of Commerce & Development, and Forest Park School District 91 have partnered with the Illinois Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) Network. Through this program, the Village has adopted new and innovative ways in which to deal with our youth.

One of these initiatives calls for our Police Officers to write citations to children who are behaving well! These citations are aptly entitled “Positive Police Tickets” and are redeemable for rewards at various businesses in the community. Children who receive a citation can exchange them for terrific rewards such as:

Park District
1 positive police ticket: Ice cream cone at concession stand
2 positive police tickets: Individual pool day pass
2 positive police tickets: $5 off a program at the park district

Community Center
1 positive police ticket for free entrance to Tues night Dodge ball or Wed night Rec Program
3 positive police tickets will award you 10% off a children’s program (excludes Clubhouse)

Library
1 positive police ticket = 10 library tickets

PBIS anticipates a lot more participation by the business community. This list should expand as the program gains popularity.
